On The Trails of Aandi, The Runaway God

Thaipoosam is an eve of Tamil ethnic importance and a 400-year-old heritage. Pilgrims walk hundreds of Kilometres over weeks to pay homage to their Lord Murugan, the runaway god of Palani in Tamil Nadu. ‘Muruganai Kaana’ aka ‘On the trails of Aandi’ is a tale of hardship, celebration and miraculous encounters.

Saravana Siddharth

Saravana Siddharth is a Journalist and Filmmaker from Mayiladuthurai in the Cauvery delta. He’s a firm believer of the ‘fly on the wall’ approach and an observer of Tamil folk arts.

Gowtham Raj

Gowtham Raj is a Poet and Filmmaker born in Mayiladuthurai and brought up in Suburban chennai with a resolve to bring literariness to moving images and document overlooked societies.
