DOUBLE ROLE

Deaf curler Sayuri Matsuhashi has a hearing daughter. As she wins a regional tournament, she becomes the first deaf person to qualify for the national competition. The film depicts a true story of Sayuri Matsuhashi, as a deaf curler and mother.

Kaoru Kawanishi

Born in 1983 and graduated from Tokyo Polytechnic University, Kaoru Kawanishi is a winner of the Isama Studio Film Festival Screenplay Award 2016 for ”Kids Are Angels?”. The film received multiple awards, including two grand prizes and a best supporting actor award. Double Role (2022) is the director’s first documentary film.
