Okuribi

Mei lives with her single father, Tatsuya. They just found out that their long-awaited trip to Japan was cancelled, which creates conflict between them. However, a traditional Japanese custom, Okuribi, gives Mei an opportunity to reflect on her actions and reconcile with her father.

Hiromu Yamawaki

Hiromu is a writer/director born and raised in Tottori, Japan and now is based in Vancouver. His primary interest is to make Asian representation happen both on screen and behind the camera. He focuses on making stories about intercultural experiences in multiple languages.
