Jacob finally has the opportunity to marry the love of his life and experience liberation. However, his sister”s arrival at the wedding stirs up a mixture of emotions. He is reminded of an important absence on his momentous day. As Jacob prepares to walk down the aisle, he wrestles with the bittersweet freedom and complicated grief of this absence.

Cynthia Zhou is an actor and filmmaker born in Shanghai, raised in Vancouver, and now based in Toronto. Intrigued by the complexities of human relationships and social class, her work is often a mixture of slice-of-life drama and indulgent satire. Cynthia”s previous films have screened in festivals in Vancouver, Berlin, and Tokyo.

Kimberly Ho

Kimberly Ho 何文蔚 is a filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist based in so-called “Vancouver”. Growing up in a working-class immigrant family, Kimberly’s work is nourished by collaborative processes. They are a guest director, producer and co-host of the award-winning docuseries “Pride: The LGBTQ+ History Series”, Season 4 with OUTtv.
