The Rest of Our Lives

Kenji lives alone since his wife’s death. One day, he fears he may have dementia. By chance, he joins swimming lessons and meets the instructor, Kaori. They are haunted by their past life’s peaks. Through swimming lessons, they gradually regain the strength to live and take a new step forward..

Shinji Kuma

Shinji Kuma was born in Japan and graduated from the Department of Film and New Media (Osaka University of Arts). He started working as an assistant director.  Kuma’s directorial debut was “Ichido wa shitai Aniki no yomesan”. He received attention at The Japan International Contents Festival with his work  “Fa no Tofu”.

Festival passes

This year, VAFF 2023 FESTIVAL, screening programs in person and virtual will be organized into various series in order to better highlight the diverse content in our festival.
