Set in 1980s South Korea, Hong, along with her sister, work in a base village, built only for the entertainment of the U.S. soldiers. Hong and her sister enjoy carefree days until Hong comes to think that it is strange, little by little. It is based on a true story.

Jo Hayoung

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Jo Hayoung graduated from Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts (Film Arts). Interested in spaces containing memories, history, life and emotions, Jo created the historical documentary ”Sisters Room” (2018) and the musical short film ”Remember our sister” (2022).

Festival passes

This year, VAFF 2023 FESTIVAL, screening programs in person and virtual will be organized into various series in order to better highlight the diverse content in our festival.
