Mia Yamamoto, born in a WWII incarceration camp, came out as transgender at the age of 60 after a 20-year legal career. Now at age 78, she champions racial issues and LGBTQ visibility. Rooted in L.A., she”s relentless in her mission to unite communities of color against racism, embodying her deep ties to the city.

Times, The Huffington Post, and more. They co-direct the Asian American Journalists Association LGBTQIA+ affinity group.
