Bad Asian

Tipsy strangers, Melody and Chris, can”t keep their hands off each other, until Melody”s racist comments push Chris away. Confronting her insecurities, they embark on a journey through her decades of internalized racism.  When Melody and Chris realize what’s keeping them apart, there’s only one very obvious way to clap back.

Kim Marcelino

Kim is a Chinese- and Filipino-American writer, director, and one of MovieMaker magazine’s 25 Screenwriters to Watch in 2023. She writes lighthearted comedies about serious subjects centering on flawed women of color. Her screenwriting has placed at The Academy Nicholl Fellowship, ScreenCraft Fellowship, PAGE International Screenwriting Awards, and the Austin Film Festival.
